Congregational Meeting, Stewardship Season, and More!

Beloved in Christ,

This coming Sunday is an exciting one!

First, we will have our third quarter Congregational Meeting at 11:45 am in the Parish Hall.

This is an opportunity where we will go over the church’s finances, renovation projects, ministry news, and more. Most Episcopal churches only offer meetings like this once a year at the, appropriately named, “Annual Meeting.”

That we have it four times a year is a testament to the values of transparency and care for stewarding this church. These meetings help myself and the Bishop’s Committee ensure that as many people as possible are aware of what we are doing, and why we are doing it, and hearing feedback! Knowing that so many people care is a great gift, and I look forward to seeing many of you there!

Second, this Sunday begins our stewardship season.

Over the next several weeks, we will have parts of Sunday dedicated to hearing from fellow parishioners about why they give. Stewardship season, after all, culminates this year on Sunday, November 23 which will be Ingathering Sunday

This is the Sunday when we all will bring our pledge cards, our intentions of what we hope to financially give to the Church, and offer them to God in thanksgiving for the many blessings we receive, for the gift of one another’s presence, and our continued joy at being a part of St. Andrew’s!

My reflections in the coming weeks will also focus more heavily on stewardship!

I am, in particular, very excited to note that Ingathering Sunday will also be the day we celebrate the Feast of St. Andrew! Normally, his Feast is on Sunday, November 30, which is Advent I. However, the Bishop has given us permission to transfer his Feast to the 23rd.

So mark your calendars for Sunday, November 23! We will offer our pledges to God. We will celebrate our patronal feast, St. Andrew, and ask for his continued intercession on behalf of our church, and have a great Thanksgiving feast after the service!

I look forward to seeing you all on Sunday!

Yours in christ,

Alex+
