Stewardship Season Coming Up

Stewardship season is commonly just associated with receiving requests for giving money to support the church that people are a part of. And this is certainly an aspect of stewardship.

But giving money for money’s sake is not the whole story.

Giving to support our worshipping community is a component of our spiritual lives because it helps us to reorient the many blessings God has given us and offer a portion of them back to God in Christ’s Church.

Giving is not meant to be a heavy burden, but proportionate to the means which we are blessed with. It is a sign of commitment both to the Church, and to God, and to your relationship with God

It is also understandable, at this time especially, that finances may be challenging. There are many ways to give to the Church - it may be through offering your time to serve with various needs of the church. It may be through offering some talent you have to support the church.

All of this is an aspect of stewardship. All of this is related to our spiritual lives and our journeys with God. Nothing is outside of God’s domain, including our finances, and this is a deep blessing to prayerfully consider.

We will kick off our stewardship season on Sunday, October 25. Folks will receive some letters in the mail, and we will have some time together to reflect on who we are as a Church at St. Andrew’s, and where we see ourselves going as a congregation responding prayerfully to God’s call on our lives.

I am so grateful to be a part of this community and I am genuinely looking forward to stewardship season and having time to reflect on how God is calling me into deeper relationship through financial giving, as well as giving of my time and talent to this congregation.

Yours in Christ,

Alex+
